Certified Gunn IMS Practitioner
Jessica holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Psychology from the University of Victoria. Jessica began her career in private practice orthopaedics in Vancouver in 2003. After several years in Vancouver, she moved to the southern hemisphere where she worked for several years in Wellington, New Zealand and Perth, Australia. In 2005, Jessica returned to Vancouver and has been working there until her move to Victoria recently.
Jessica has continued her studies in the orthopaedic area and is certified in acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (CGIMS). She has a special interest in soft tissue pain treatment using IMS and acupuncture. She feels it is very important to listen to the needs of her patients and combine hands-on treatment with education and exercise prescription to help her patients achieve their desired goals. Jessica is trained and experienced using the Gokavi Transverse Technique (GTT) of dry needling.
Jessica’s interests outside of work include travel and running as well as keeping on top of the demands of a busy family life.

Shelbourne Physiotherapy staff provide clinical instruction at our Victoria Clinic for students in the UBC Faculty of Medicine. We are an accredited facility for UBC Dept. of Physical Therapy Student Practicums.
